HVAC Systems’ own research and development departments, as well as the independent Institute for Air Treatment (Institut für Lüftungstechnik, IfL), are essential components of the future-oriented activities and the special competencies of HVAC Systems: efforts necessary to satisfy the great demands that the company places on the products and services that it provides.
The planning competencies of the Institute include efficiency analyses and evaluations of HVAC concepts, customer-specific optimization of equipment and facility concepts, dynamic energy simulations, and design of systems in accordance with EnEV 2009 and EEWärmeG.
Simulation of the flow of room air, comfort analyses, development of concepts for routing of airflow, evaluation and improvement of airflow concepts, as well as design of industrial air-extraction airflow – all these are likewise part of the assignments carried out by the Institute for Air Treatment in Herne, Germany.
The measurement-technology expertise of the Institute encompasses airflow experiments in its three-dimensional flow laboratory, acoustic measurements in accordance with ISO 3741, performance testing in storage chambers, and airflow measurements according to ISO 5801.
